Run msxml.msi with Windows XP Service pack 2 compatibility. Right click on your msxml.msi and select properties. Version differences[edit]

The 'Age of Mythology Gold Edition', first released in 2004; can often be found on store shelves. It is the most cost effective way of acquiring the game, as it contains the following on a single DVD-ROM:

• Age of Mythology
• Age of Mythology: The Titans

No-CD patches are already applied; the DVD is only necessary for installation - ensuring compatibility with modern OSes; and all games are already fully patched.

Note that a patch is needed to fix some issues here.

System Requirements

MSXML 4.0 is supported in Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, and Windows 2000

Note

It is recommended to upgrade to MSXML 6.0, since it has the latest security and performance improvements over earlier MSXML versions. If for whatever reason MSXML 4.0 must be used in your application, upgrade to MSXML 4.0 SP3, the only supported version.
